KeyMark Kicks Off 2019 with Basecamp Training Week

4 minute read
From January 14th through the 18th, KeyMark hosted its week of Basecamp at its home office in Liberty, SC. Basecamp week offers KeyMark employees an opportunity to be trained on the latest and best ways we can engage with and help our customers, as well as plan ahead for the coming year. Of course, it wouldn’t be a KeyMark event without some fun mixed in, and there was plenty to be had throughout the week! A look back at Basecamp provides a glimpse into what makes KeyMark so special.     For their training sessions, members of the Sales and Operations Teams split time between KeyMark’s Liberty headquarters and the Pickens County Alliance Center just down the road. During these sessions, our teams learned valuable information specific to their roles that are sure to pay dividends in the future. Solutions Architect, Colette Terlitsky described the week, saying
“This week’s training has given a great framework to start out 2019. For all sales roles, but especially for me being a new hire, it is an important concept to learn how best to partner with our customers and align ourselves to understand what they need to move forward on a project with us.”
Elaborating on the specific things her team learned, she said
“This training gave language and verbiage to how we should engage in defining requirements, how to become an asset in digging into customers’ processes and determining where pain points are, and how we can excel in the future using these principles. It was a week for our teams to bond together and realign where our direction and efforts should be pointed this coming year.”
Along with training, Basecamp gives employees the opportunity to hear presentations on several different topics. National Account Manager, Austin Graham presented a great case study on a KeyMark client, and we also had visitors from our some of our vendors. Everyone was especially excited to learn more about RPA (Robotic Process Automation) solutions for current and future customers. Support Engineer, Chandler Coffman said
“We’re really excited about KeyMark’s future with RPA processing, and the opportunities we have in that area are a huge step towards business in the RPA space.”
There is a lot to look forward to in 2019, and the insight and inspiration we received from each presentation throughout the week only heightened the expectations for the rest of the year.     In between all of the work, #TeamKeyMark was sure to squeeze in a little bit of fun. On Monday, teams were encouraged to have dinner together, and Greenville was a popular destination for all. The Marketing team took their appetites to Sidewall Pizza after happy hour at Grateful Brew, and though our eyes may have been bigger than our stomachs, we managed to have a great time and eat (almost) everything. Thursday offered another great day of food, as everyone enjoyed happy hour at the office followed by catered Smokin’ Pig. The biggest hit of the week, however, occurred on Wednesday during the company outing to Hampton Station in Greenville. We enjoyed drinks at Birds Fly South, food from White Duck Taco and some competition at Craft Axe Throwing. After the dust had settled, the Operations Team took home the first ever Bustin’ Axe Trophy (trademark pending).     Ultimately, Basecamp is a great week because it serves as a reflection of KeyMark as a whole. Employees are invested in through training and workshops so that they can improve and do an even better job at serving customers, but they are also encouraged to enjoy themselves along the way. It was a time to get to know one another outside of the office, but also to learn how to best work together inside the office this year and beyond. After a great start, we’re excited for the rest of 2019 and everything that comes next!
